Problem Title: Data Analytics-Forest Department

Problem Description:

MP Forest department has 22 wings/ section and the majority of data in department is in physical format. However after establishment of IT section the digitalization of data has started from 2004 onwards but majority of digitalization is done over forest maps with the use of GIS technologies. Presently MPFD is having a huge amount of data both in physical and digital format at various levels from field offices to head office. Further from last 15 years MPFD’s IT section has also developed various in-house standalone application on requirement basis and data from these applicationsin various formats are also available for analysis. So following are the areas where data analysis can be used for effectiveadministration and management of the department.

1. Forest fire forecasting & management.
2. Forest offence management.
3. Effective Plantation monitoring and control.
4. Employee management and Training Need Analysis (TNA).
5. Project Management.
6. Identification of illicit felling & illegal mining areas.
7. Analysis on poaching of wildlife.
8. Forest type, vegetation, deforestation& soil analysis.
9. Analysis of forest land and Van grams.
10. Habitat analysis of wildlife animals & migratory birds.

Thus all the aforementioned task can be done by the use of Data Analytics with an integration with database of various applications of MPFD, GOMP &GoI.
